Vestiaire Collective — the home of pre-loved luxury fashion

“We need to remain pragmatic and efficient. Bitrise’s main benefit is the flexibility and the safety it brings to our processes and managing our CI/CD pipeline — it scales easily and transparently.”

Buy, sell, and share

Vestiaire Collective is the leading global platform for desirable pre-loved fashion, founded in Paris. It is dedicated to transforming the fashion industry for a more sustainable future by promoting the circular fashion movement as an alternative to overproduction and overconsumption and the wasteful practices of the fashion industry.

As of today, the company operates worldwide with a catalog of over 3 million items, with headquarters in Paris and offices from Hong Kong to New York. They started off with a web-based business model, but three years ago, they decided to shift towards a mobile-first approach. By now, their iOS and Android applications represent the majority of their business, user engagement, and revenues.

Scaling and expanding worldwide

The initially small mobile team was using Jenkins on self-hosted machines, but in order to scale transparently and efficiently, they needed a cloud-based, mobile-specific solution — which led them to Bitrise.

In this video interview, we talked to engineers from the Vestiaire Collective mobile team: Rémi Bouchez, Head of Mobile Engineering; Victor Yan, Team Lead, Core Mobile iOS; Rafael Araújo, Team Lead, Core Mobile Android; and Robin Maitre, Android Engineering Manager.

They shared their experience about how they shifted from Jenkins to Bitrise and how the time they saved allowed them to focus on improving their app for millions of users around the world. As Victor Yan explains:

“We are here to make sure that our mobile app scales the right way and this is where Bitrise comes in. We switched to Bitrise’s Gen2 machines last year and  decreased our pipeline times by 50%.”
